<article class="news-post"> <header class="article-header"> <p class="category">CAMEROON NEWS</p> <h1>WUM: FIVE TEACHERS FREED AFTER BEING ABDUCTED IN MENCHUM</h1> <p class="lead"> Five teachers who were reportedly abducted in Wum, Menchum Division of the North-West Region, have regained their freedom. </p> </header> <section class="article-content"> <p> The teachers — Principal Kwa Hope, Ache Presilla, Kometa Divine, Kum Nadine and Nchia Dieudonné — were reportedly taken during an attack on Tuesday as schools prepared for the new academic year. </p> <p> Photos circulating on social media on Thursday showed the teachers alongside members of the BIR, appearing safe and in good spirits following their release. </p> <p> The circumstances surrounding their release have not been fully clarified. </p> <h2>Officer Reportedly Killed in the Attack</h2> <p> The incident, however, came at a heavy cost. SSP Mbah Tobie Damase, who was reportedly killed during the attack, lost his life in the line of duty. </p> <h2>Security Concerns as Schools Reopen</h2> <p> As the five teachers return to safety, attention now turns to the security of teachers, students and communities in the North-West as the new school year gets underway. </p> <blockquote class="closing-message"> 🕊️ Five teachers are back home.
