Political activity is increasing within several parties in Cameroon as preparations begin for the country’s next legislative and municipal elections.
A report published by Cameroon Tribune on September 16, 2026, says several political parties are experiencing increased internal activity as potential candidates seek positions ahead of the upcoming electoral process.
The competition is expected to be significant, with political parties preparing to contest 180 seats in the National Assembly as well as more than 10,000 municipal councillor positions across Cameroon’s 360 councils, according to the report.
