Maëllys Ngo Mboui Takes the Miss Cameroon 2026 Crown
Yaoundé, Cameroon — Maëllys Ngo Mboui has been crowned Miss Cameroon 2026, following the final of the 19th edition of the national beauty pageant held on September 19 at the Palais des Congrès in Yaoundé.
Representing Miss Diaspora France, the 20-year-old emerged from a field of candidates representing Cameroon’s ten regions and the diaspora. She succeeds Audrey Moutongo Black as the new national titleholder.
Beyond the pageant, Ngo Mboui has an academic and technology-oriented profile. She is currently pursuing a double degree in Economics-Management and Mathematics-Computer Science in France. She is also the founder of Cameroonian Girls in STEAM, an initiative focused on encouraging young Cameroonian girls to engage with science, technology, engineering, arts and mathematics.
Her activities have included educational programmes, mentoring, masterclasses and technology-related initiatives involving young people in Cameroon, including activities in Yaoundé and Bamenda.
The 2026 edition of the competition placed particular emphasis on the fight against cybercrime, highlighting issues surrounding digital responsibility and the protection of young people, particularly women, online.
The national final was presided over by First Lady Chantal Biya, who presented Ngo Mboui with the crown and sash after the competition. The official Presidency described the event as a celebration of beauty, talent and excellence.
With her background in technology, education and women’s empowerment, Maëllys Ngo Mboui now begins her reign as Miss Cameroon 2026, with responsibilities that include representing Cameroonian women and culture during her year in office.
